Just when you think you have everything figured out, something happens to shake things up again.

As I mentioned in a previous post, in the summer of 2009 I was diagnosed with a number of food allergies.  The allergist at the time indicated that if I cut these foods out of my diet, I should start to feel better.  However, in the 1.5 yrs since, there have been mixed results – with an underlying theme of being constantly tired and having epically low levels of Vitamin D.

Fast forward to 2011 – New doctor –> new allergist –> new round of allergy tests –> new results

What does this mean?

I’m confused all over again, back into a world of what wondering what I can and cannot eat, what may be causing these problems, and what I should be doing to feel better.  It’s so very very frustrating to be back in this place, but at the same time, somewhat of a relief to be on a road to figuring this all out.

I hope.

Regardless of where this road leads, as of right now, I’m still avoiding the foods I was told I was “allergic” to – just to be safe – since I could very well still have intolerances to certain things and want to avoid any issues.  However, if I’m told that I am not actually allergic to peanuts, I will be indulging in some peanut butter cups as soon as is humanly possible for me to do so after leaving the allergist’s office.

Also, if peanuts are a go and anyone has peanut butter patty Girl Scout cookies, I may be willing to pay a premium for a box.  Seriously.
