Organizing
While I have hung up my clipboard and am no longer a full-time organizer, I still do help campaigns on the side. What can I say – it keeps me out of trouble!
I am committed to helping local candidates – those who tend to have very limited resources – run campaigns that maximize resources without sacrificing quality campaign practices.
I’m proud of the ROI that I have brought to each candidate I have helped. I also have a network of like-minded people that I like to work with on campaigns – plus we have fun.
What Can I Do?
- Campaign set up – initial set up of online resources (email, website, online contribution portal, Facebook, etc) as well as the other steps a new campaign needs to do to get off the ground.
- Website – build and/or host a site for you, or work on an existing site to make updates.
- Branding – work with the campaign to implement the campaign brand consistently across web, print, and other campaign resources (including design work with existing logo and colors)
- Communications – from blast emails, to issue research to direct mail – I got this.
- Targeting – field (including everything from pre-caucus through election day), political, fundraising targeting to make sure the campaign isn’t wasting time and money.
And much, much more!

“Melissa is a big picture political strategist who is able to implement plans at any level of government. I love to dream up big ideas with her and then push up our sleeves and get it done.”
“If it wasn’t for Melissa’s help, I wouldn’t be sitting on the school board today. Her insights on how to navigate through the political system was invaluable.”
“I’ve worked with Melissa on many campaign projects. She has a keen understanding of what works in Minnesota. Print, direct mail, or social media, Melissa is a go to consultant for winning strategies.”
“As a first-time candidate with limited experience with campaigns, I felt like I’d won the lottery when Melissa signed on to lend her substantial talents and expertise to my campaign. Melissa is down to earth, genuine and always willing to go far beyond the call of duty on behalf of her candidates. Moreover, Melissa is the rare campaign pro who is willing to take a chance on a promising newbie even when more likely winners are in the field. “
“Melissa understands how data and strategy need to connect to help an issue or a candidate reach the right people with the right message. She also has the experience needed to be able to provide candid and authentic advice to clients that keeps everyone focused on the bigger goal.”
“Melissa is great at over all strategy, asks the right questions, kept me organized as a candidate, reduced costs by great analysis of caucus goer, delegate and voter history to focus calls and mailings. She brings other perspectives to the campaign from her varied experience on local and state level campaigns. But perhaps the best thing Melissa brings is a sense of humor and understanding that people need to have a good experience helping a campaign.”
